Moist Caramel Apple Cake

Makes: 16 servings

1 pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix
1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O
Vanilla or French Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
1 cup water
4 eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 Granny Smith apples, peeled,coarsely chopped
20 KRAFT Caramels, unwrapped
1/4 cup milk

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 12-cup fluted tube pan or
10-inch tube pan. Beat cake mix, dry pudding mix, water, eggs and oil
large bowl with electric mixer on low speed until blended. Beat on high
speed 2 min. Gently stir in apples.

Pour into prepared pan.

BAKE 50 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool 20 min.; remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack.

MICROWAVE caramels and milk in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1-1/2 min., stirring every 30 sec. until blended. Cool 10 min. until slightly thickened. Drizzle over

Apple Fritters

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
4 large egg yolks
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup apple cider, hard cider, or apple juice
2 cups chopped apple or pear
2 egg whites
Apple Cider Glaze

Preheat oil to 350 degrees F.

In a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, and
salt; stir well with a whisk. In another bowl combine egg yolks, milk and
apple cider; stir well with a whisk. Combine flour mixture, egg
mixture, and apple; stir well.

In a clean bowl beat egg whites with a whisk until stiff peaks form;
gently fold into batter.

Spoon batter by rounded tablespoonfuls into oil. Fry 4 or 5 fritters
at a time for 4 to 5 minutes or until golden, turning once. Remove from
hot oil and drain on paper towels. Dip into Apple Cider Glaze. Serve

Apple Cider Glaze

1/2 cup fresh apple cider, hard apple cider, or apple juice
2 cups sifted powdered sugar

Combine apple cider and sugar; stir until smooth.

Deep Fried Fish

Deep Fried Fish

3 or 4 servings

CRISCO Shortening for deep frying
1/2 cup all-purpose flour, divided
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon CRISCO Shortening, melted
1 egg white, stiffly beaten
1 pound fresh or frozen fish fillets, thawed

Heat 2 or 3 inhces Crisco to 365ºF in deep fryer or deep saucepan.
Combine 1/4 cup flour and salt in medium bowl. Add egg yolk, water
and one tablespoon melted shortening. Stir until smooth. Fold in egg

Dip fish in 1/4 cup flour. Dip in batter. Drain off excess.
Fry, a few pieces at a time, in shortening heated to 365ºF. Fry
about 1-1/2 minutes in each side or until golden brown. Drain on
paper towels. To serve, sprinkle with salt and vinegar, if desired.

Super Crisp Country Fried Chicken

Super Crisp Country Fried Chicken

4 servings

1/2 cup milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons garlic salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 frying chicken (2-1/2 to 3 pounds) cut up or use chicken pieces
CRISCO Shortening for frying

Combine milk and egg in medium bowl.
Combine flour, garlic salt, paprika, pepper and poultry seasoning in
paper or plastic bag. Add a few pieces of chicken at a time. Shake
to coat.

Dip chicken in milk-egg mixture. Shake second time in flour mixture.
Skillet or deep fry in Crisco.

Cheezy Garlic Bread


1 (1 pound) loaf Italian bread
5 tablespoons butter, softened
2 teaspoons virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon oregano
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Preheat the broiler. Cut the bread into slices 1 to 2
inches thick. In a small bowl, mix butter, olive oil, garlic,
oregano, salt and pepper. Spread the mixture evenly on the
bread slices. On a medium baking sheet, arrange the slices
evenly and broil 5 minutes, or until slightly brown. Check
frequently so they do not burn. Remove from broiler. Top with
cheese and return to broiler 2 to 3 minutes, until cheese is
slightly brown and melted. Serve at once.

1 cup fresh strawberries
1 cup pineapple juice
1 cup ice cubes

Combine all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth. Serve in tall
glasses with straws.

Alternate: Crush strawberries with a potato masher and combine with 1
1/2 cups juice. Pour into cups and freeze for 30 minutes or until

1 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
6 Tbs. cocoa, divided
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2/3 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup brown sugar
1-3/4 cups hot water

In a medium bowl combine flour, sugar, 2 Tbs. cocoa, baking powder
and salt. Stir in the milk and vanilla. Spread in an ugnreased 9-
inch square pan. Combine brown sugar, remaining 4 Tbs. cocoa, and
water. Carefully pour hot water mixture over batter. Do NOT stir
into batter. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes. Serve warm with ice
cream, if desired.

Corn Chowder

Corn Chowder

4 cups potato, washed and cut in large chunks
1 large onion, chopped coarsely
1 large green pepper, chopped
2 cups fresh or frozen corn
1 cup low-fat evaporated milk
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 tsp fresh garlic, minced

In large soup pan, cook potatoes, onions, and green pepper in just
enough water to cover the vegetables. Bring to a boil; turn temperature
down and simmer 10 minutes.

Add corn and simmer 10 minutes. Add milk, cheese, and garlic. Boil;
remove from heat and serve warm.

Veggie Onion Dip

Veggie Onion Dip

8 oz low-fat cream cheese
1 small onion, chopped
2 tbsp skim milk
1 tsp spice of choice (garlic, celery salt, chives)

Place all ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Beat until smooth.
Chill until ready to serve. Serve with fresh vegetables.

Baked Pork Chops Mozzarella


1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 egg
2 tablespoons water
6 boneless pork chops, 3/4 in. thick
1 1/2 cup your favorite spaghetti sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese


On waxed paper, combine soup mix, bread crumbs and pepper.

In shallow dish, beat together egg and water. Dip chops into egg mixture; coat with soup mixture.

In 2 qt. oblong baking dish, arrange chops. Bake at 400F for 20 minutes.

Pour spaghetti sauce over chops. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 5 minutes or until chops are no longer pink and sauce is hot and bubbling

Apple Cinnamon Cake

Apple Cinnamon Cake

1 (18.25 ounce) box spice or yellow cake mix
1 (21 ounce) can apple or peach pie filling
3 eggs
3 teaspoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Blend together cake mix, apple or peach filling and eggs in large mixer
bowl. Beat at medium speed 2 minutes.

Combine sugar and cinnamon. Spread half the batter in greased 13 x 9-
inch pan; sprinkle with half the cinnamon sugar. Repeat with remaining
batter and cinnamon sugar. Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until wooden pick
inserted in center of cakes comes out clean. Cool.

Extra Easy-Pizza

Extra-Easy Pizza

1 1/2 cups Original Bisquick® mix
1/3 cup very hot water
1 can (8 ounces) pizza sauce
1 package (3 1/2 ounces) sliced pepperoni
1/2 cup sliced fresh mushroom
1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (6 ounces)

1. Heat oven to 450ºF. Grease 12-inch pizza pan. Stir together Bisquick mix and very hot water; beat 20 strokes until soft dough forms.
2. Press dough in pizza pan. Spread pizza sauce over dough. Top with remaining ingredients.
3. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.

Success Tip:
For a light, tender crust, use very hot water and stir only 20 times. Stirring the dough too much will make the crust tough.

Burrito BLT Sandwiches

8 slices bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled
2 cups bite-size pieces lettuce
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (6 ounces)
1 large tomato, chopped (1 cup)
1/3 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
6 Old El Paso® flour tortillas (8 inches in diameter)

1. Toss all ingredients except tortillas.
2. Spread one-sixth of bacon mixture on each tortilla. Fold up bottom third of each tortilla; roll up to form cone shape with folded end at bottom.

Layered Peanut Butter Bars (Cookie Mix)

Cookie Base
1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker® peanut butter cookie mix
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon water
1 egg
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2 cups powdered sugar
2 teaspoons milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter

1. Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
2. In large bowl, stir all Cookie Base ingredients until soft dough forms. Press dough in bottom of pan using floured fingers. Bake 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
3. In small bowl, beat all Filling ingredients with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Spread mixture evenly over cookie base.
4. In microwavable bowl, microwave all Frosting ingredients on High 30 seconds; stir until smooth. Cool 10 minutes; spread over filling. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until set. For bars, cut into 9 rows by 4 rows.

1 pk Yellow cake mix
3 Eggs
2/3 c Milk
1 1/2 c Creamy peanut butter
1 sm Instant vanilla pudding

Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Blend well. Beat on
medium speed for 5 minutes. Pour mixture into a greased and floured
13x9" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool in pan 10 minutes.
Remove from pan and cool completely.

Autumn Apple Chops

4 Top loin pork chops
1 tbsp Flour
2 tsp Butter
1/2 Sliced onion
1 cup Apple juice

Season flour with a little salt and pepper; lightly flour pork chops
and brown on one side in butter in non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Turn chops; stir in onion and apple juice; bring to a boil, lower heat,
cover and simmer for 7-8 minutes or until tender.

*you can add sliced apples to this recipe, add them when you have cooked the onions.

Chicken w/Rose Wine

Chicken Rose

2 broiler-fryer chickens, cut in quarters
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 tablespoons shortening
1/4 teaspoon rosemary
1/4 teaspoon basil
3/4 cup rosé or white wine
3/4 cup sour cream

Mix garlic salt, paprika and flour; dredge chicken in flour mix. Brown
chicken on both sides in the shortening. Add herbs and wine; cover pan
and cook over low heat until chicken is tender, 25 to 30 minutes.
Remove chicken, skim off excess fat; stir in sour cream. Replace
chicken in sauce; reheat but do not boil.

Chili Con Carne

2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 pound ground beef
l large onion (chopped)
1 can (10 ounce) tomato soup
1 can (15 ounce) red kidney beans
1 cup water
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 can mushrooms

Add the cooking oil to a skillet and heat. Add the ground beef and
onion and cook until brown. In a sauce pan add the tomato soup, kidney
beans, water and heat. Then add the ground beef and onions along with the
chili powder, salt, pepper, and mushrooms. Simmer for 15 more minutes
and serve.

6 boneless chicken breasts (1 1/2 pounds)
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
6 slices swiss cheese
1 cup crushed seasoned croutons

Place Chicken in a greased 13" x 9" x 2" baking dish.
In a bowl, combine the soup and wine or chicken broth;
pour over chicken. Top with cheese and sprinkle with
croutons. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees.

Vegetable oil
1 pound fish fillet or 1 pound uncooked peeled deveined large shrimp, thawed if frozen
3 to 4 tablespoons Original Bisquick® mix
1 cup Original Bisquick® mix
1/2 cup beer
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt

1. Heat oil (1 1/2 inches) in heavy saucepan or deep fryer to 350ºF. Lightly coat fish with 3 to 4 tablespoons Bisquick mix.
2. Mix remaining ingredients with hand beater until smooth. (If batter is too thick, stir in additional beer, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency.) Dip fish into batter, letting excess drip into bowl.
3. Fry fish about 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown; drain. Serve hot and, if desired, with tartar sauce.

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni (7 ounces)
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded or cubed Cheddar cheese (8 ounces)

1. Heat oven to 350ºF.
2. Cook macaroni as directed on package.
3. While macaroni is cooking, melt butter in 3-quart saucepan over low heat. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Cook over medium low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly; remove from heat. Stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constanly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in cheese. Cook, stirring occasionally, until cheese is melted.
4. Drain macaroni. Gently stir macaroni into cheese sauce. Pour into ungreased 2-quart casserole. Bake uncovered 20 to 25 minutes or until bubbly.

A Betty Crocker Kitchens favorite, this herb-flecked meat loaf is everything a good meat loaf should be!

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chopped fresh sage leaves or 1/4 teaspoon dried sage leaves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 garlic clove, finely chopped or 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 egg
3 slices bread, torn into small pieces
1 small onion, chopped (1/4 cup)
1/2 cup ketchup, chili sauce or barbecue sauce

1. Heat oven to 350°F.
2. Mix all ingredients except ketchup. Spread mixture in ungreased loaf pan, 8 1/2x4 1/2x2 1/2 or 9x5x3 inches, or shape into 9x5-inch loaf in ungreased rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches. Spread ketchup over top.
3. Insert meat thermometer so tip is in center of loaf. Bake uncovered 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes or until thermometer reads 160°F.

Use whatever you have on hand! One-half cup dry bread crumbs or 3/4 cup quick-cooking oats can be substituted for the 3 slices bread.

Hot Chicken Wings

5 lbs chicken wings
1 stick melted margarine
1 bottle FRANKS hot sauce

Mix butter and hot sauce well.
Fry and drain chicken wings and add to hot sauce mixture.
Let set in sauce for a few minutes...the longer they set the hotter
will be... ..add carrot sticks and celery sticks to hot sauce mixture
Serve sticks and wings with ranch or blue cheese dressing
Serve bread and slaw to cut the BURN!

Hawaiian Chicken Wings

Hawaiian Chicken Wings

1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup tomato ketchup
1 clove garlic, minced
3 lbs chicken wings, tips removed
1 cup fine dry bread crumbs
14 oz can pineapple chunks
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp minced fresh ginger
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Dash Hot pepper sauce (Tabasco)

Melt butter in shallow baking pan in 400° oven.
Stir together ketchup and garlic; brush over wings.
Roll wings in breadcrumbs, coat evenly.
Place in pan, turn to coat lightly with butter.
Bake for 30 minutes.

Drain pineapple, reserve juice in 2-cup measure; add water to make 3/4
cup liquid.
Stir in brown sugar, ginger, Worcestershire & hot pepper sauce.

After wings have cooked 30 minutes, turn & pour on sauce.
Bake about 20-30 minutes longer or until chicken is tender.

Add pineapple for last 5 minutes
Care should be taken to ensure wings are lightly browned.

precise sentence, and concentrate on the water in the card.

Beefy Fiesta Casserole


1 pound lean ground beef
salt & pepper, to taste
4 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup dairy sour cream
2/3 cup mayonnaise or Salad Dressing
2 teaspoons onion, finely chopped
2 cup Bisquick baking Mix
1/2 cup water
2-3 ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced
3/4 cup green bell pepper,chopped

Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Cook and stir the meat in
a large skillet until brown. Drain off the excess fat.
Season the meat with the salt and pepper, then set aside.
Mix the cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise and onion and set this
mixture aside. Stir the baking mix and water together until
a soft dough forms. With floured fingers, pat the dough in a
greased 9x13 baking pan, pressing the dough 1/2 inch up the
sides of the pan. Layer the meat, then tomato slices, and
green pepper onto the dough. Spoon the sour cream mixture over
the top and sprinkle with the paprika, if used. Bake uncovered
until the edges of the dough are light brown, 25 to 30 minutes.
Cool 5 minutes and then cut into squares.

YIELD: 6 servings

Bisquick Caramel Apple Cake

1 1/2 cups Bisquick
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 medium cooking apples, peeled and sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup boiling water
ice cream or whipped cream, if desired

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix Bisquick and granulated
sugar in medium bowl. Stir in milk until blended. Pour
batter into ungreased square pan, 9x9x 2 inches. Top
with apples; sprinkle with lemon juice. Mix brown sugar
and cinnamon; sprinkle over apples. Pour boiling water
over apples. Bake 50-60 minutes or until toothpick
inserted in center comes out clean.

Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Makes 6 servings.

4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (about 1-1/4 lbs.)
1/2 cup Mayonnaise
3/4 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1 cup prepared chunky salsa
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese (about 4 oz.)

Preheat oven to 425°.

Brush chicken with Mayonnaise, then dip in bread crumbs until evenly

In 13 x 9-inch baking dish, arrange chicken. Bake 15 minutes. Top
chicken with salsa, then cheese. Bake an additional 5 minutes or until
cheese is melted and chicken is thoroughly cooked.

1/2 cup refried beans
Dash garlic powder
2 cups chopped hot dogs (about 6)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 (8-oz) pkgs refrigerated crescent rolls
Barbecue sauce or ketchup

In a large bowl stir together the refried beans and garlic powder. Stir
in chopped franks and cheddar cheese.

For each ball, flatten 2 roll triangles to form a rectangle, pinching
perforations together to seal. Press into muffin cups. Place about 1/3
cup of the meat mixture in the center. One at a time, fold 3 corners
of dough over the filling. Fold the remaining corner of dough
completely over the top, stretching to fit. Seal.

Bake in a 375 degrees F oven for 18-20 minutes or till golden. Cover
loosely with foil during last few minutes, if necessary, to prevent
overbrowning. Transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm with barbecue sauce or
ketchup. Makes 8.

1 can chicken noodle soup
2/3 cup cubed cooked chicken
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup frozen mixed vegetables
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 4-oz pkg refrigerated crescent rolls

In a saucepan combine soup, chicken, milk, vegetables, and flour. Cook
and stir till thickened and bubbly. Set aside.

Pinch together 2 crescent roll triangles to form each pie top. Pour
hot chicken mixture into two 10-oz custard cups. Cover with rolls,
shaping to fit. Cut steam vents in the top. Bake in a 375 degree F oven
for 12-15 minutes or till the top crust is golden brown. Serve at once,
or cool slightly, wrap, and refrigerate. Makes 2 servings.

Reheating Instructions: To heat 1 serving, cover with foil and bake in
a 375 degree F oven for 20-25 minutes or till hot. Or microwave,
uncovered, at medium heat for 3-4 minutes, giving the dish a half-turn once.

1 cup tiny bow tie pasta
1 can cream of mushroom soup
3/4 cup shredded American cheese
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp dried minced onion
1/8 tsp pepper
1 (6 1/2 oz) can water-pack tuna, drained and flaked
1 small tomato, chopped

Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain.

In a saucepan, combine soup, 1/2 cup of the cheese, milk, onion, and
pepper. Stir in tuna. Cook and stir over medium heat till cheese melts.
Stir in pasta and tomato. Heat through. Spoon onto individual serving
plates. Top each serving with some of the remaining cheese.

Microwave Directions: Cook pasta as above. In a 1 1/2-quart nonmetal
casserole combine soup, 1/2 cup of the cheese, milk, onion, and pepper.
Micro-cook, uncovered on high for 2-3 minutes or till bubbly, stirring
once. Stir in tuna and pasta. Cook, uncovered, for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2
minutes more or till heated through. Stir once. Stir in tomato. Cook
for 30 seconds or till heated through. Serve as above.

Cream Cheese Potatoes

Cream Cheese Potatoes

4 tablespoons minced or chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
8 medium potatoes, scrubbed and sliced (about 2 lbs.)
1 pkg. (8ozs.) cream cheese, cut into cubes
4 slices of bacon, cooked golden brown and crispy, crumbled

Lightly grease crockpot. In small bowl, combine onion, garlic, salt
and pepper.

Layer one-quarter of sliced potatoes in bottom of crockpot. Sprinkle
with one-quarter of seasonings. Layer with one-third of cream cheese
cubes and bacon. Continue layering process, ending with layer of
potatoes then sprinkle with seasonings. Cover and cook on high 3 to 4
hours. In last hour of cooking, stir potatoes to distribute cream
cheese and bacon.

1. Preheat oven to 350°F

3/4 cup yellow Corn Meal
1 cup Flour
3 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
1 Egg, slightly beaten
1 cup Sour Cream
1/3 cup Milk
2 Tbsp. melted Butter
1/4 cup finely chopped green Onions

Preheat oven to 400° F. Grease muffin cups. Combine dry ingredients.
Combine remaining ingredients and add to the dry ingredients. Fill
cups a little over 3/4 full and bake 20 minutes. Makes 1 dozen

Applesauce Muffins

2 cups Biscuit Mix
1/4 cup Sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 cup Apple Sauce
1/4 cup Milk
1 Egg, lightly beaten
2 Tbsp. Vegetable Oil
1/4 cup chopped Walnuts

Preheat the oven to 400° F. Grease the muffin cups. Combine the biscuit
mix with the sugar and cinnamon. Add the next five ingredients, and
well. Fill the muffin cups 2/3 full and bake 12 minutes or until
browned. Cool slightly.

2 Tbsp. melted Butter
1/4 cup Sugar mixed with 1/4 tsp. Cinnamon

Dip the tops of the muffins into the melted butter, then into the
cinnamon &
sugar mixture. Makes 1 dozen.

Blueberry Muffins

1/2 cup Butter, softened
1/2 cup Sugar
2 Eggs
2 cups Flour
2 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 cup mashed Blueberries
2 cups whole Blueberries
1 Tbsp. Sugar mixed with 1/4 tsp. Nutmeg

Preheat the oven to 375° F. Grease the muffin cups/pan. Cream together
and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Combine dry
and add with milk to the butter mixture. Stir in the blueberries. Fill
muffin cups
2/3 full and sprinkle tops with sugar. Bake 25 minutes. Cool 30 minutes
removing from pan. Make 1 Dozen.

1 package (8 ounces) brown-and-serve link sausages
1 cup Original Bisquick® mix
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 egg
1/2 cup chopped peeled apple
Maple-flavored syrup

1. Heat oven to 450ºF. Grease square baking dish, 8x8x2 inches. Brown sausages as directed on package.
2. Stir Bisquick, milk, cinnamon and egg until blended. Stir in apple. Pour into dish; arrange sausages on top.
3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until light brown. Serve with syrup.

Easy French Apple Pie

Impossibly Easy French Apple Pie

3 cups sliced peeled all-purpose apples (3 large)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup Original Bisquick® mix
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
Streusel (See Below)

1. Heat oven to 325ºF. Grease 9-inch pie plate.
2. Stir together apples, cinnamon and nutmeg; turn into pie plate. Stir remaining ingredients except Streusel until blended. Pour into pie plate. Sprinkle with Streusel.
3. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Cover and refrigerate any remaining pie.

1. Stir together all ingredients until crumbly.

Barbecue Pork Chops

Barbecue Pork Chops

1 1/2 cups barbecue-flavored potato chips (1 1/4 oz)
1/2 cup Original Bisquick® mix
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
6 pork boneless loin chops, 1/2 inch thick (about 1 1/2 lb)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3/4 cup barbecue sauce

1. Place potato chips in 1-gallon resealable plastic food-storage bag; crush with rolling pin. Add Bisquick mix to chips; mix well.

2. In small shallow dish, mix egg and 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce. Dip pork chops into egg mixture, then shake in bag to coat with Bisquick mixture.

3. In 12-inch nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-low heat. Cook pork chops in oil 15 to 18 minutes, turning once, until golden brown and pork is no longer pink in center. Serve with 3/4 cup barbecue sauce. To Freeze and Bake: Coat pork chops as directed, but do not cook. Wrap each pork chop in heavy-duty foil. Freeze up to 2 months. Place in refrigerator 8 hours or overnight until thawed. Cook as directed.

1/2 cup Original Bisquick® mix
1/3 cup Italian dressing
1/2 cup Progresso® garlic-herb dry bread crumbs
4 pork boneless loin chops, 1/2 inch thick (1 1/2 pounds)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1. Place Bisquick mix, dressing and bread crumbs in separate shallow bowls. Coat pork chops with Bisquick mix. Dip coated pork chops into dressing, then coat with bread crumbs.
2. Heat oil in 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook pork in oil about 5 minutes or until golden brown; reduce heat to low. Carefully turn pork. Cook 10 to 15 minutes longer or until pork is no longer pink in center. Serve immediately.

Rosemary Garlic Pork Chops

Rosemary-Garlic Pork Chops

2/3 cup roasted garlic teriyaki marinade and sauce
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tsp dried rosemary, crumbled
4 center-cut pork loin chops, 3/4 inch thick

Combine marinade, vinegar, and rosemary; remove and reserve 2 tbsp
mixture. Pour remaining mixture over chops in large plastic food storage
bag. Press air out of bag; close top securely. Turn bag over several
times to coat all pieces evenly. Refrigerate 1 hour, turning bag over
once. Place chops on rack of broiler pan; discard marinade. Broil
chops about 4 inches away from heat source 7 minutes. Turn chops over;
brush with reserved marinade mixture. Cook pork 6-7 minutes longer, or
until pork is just done.

Peanut Butter Balls

makes approx. 72 balls

Combine in large bowl the following:

3 C rice krispies cereal

2 C powdered sugar

1 18 oz jar of chunky Peanut Butter

1 stick of melted margarine

Mix well with hands and shape into 1/2 to 1 inch balls and chill 1

hour. While the balls are chilling Melt 3 C semi sweet chips and a 1

to 2 inch square of paraffin in a double boiler. Using fork and spoon

dip balls in chocolate mixture place on wax paper and chill.

Tip - freeze the balls on cookie sheets for about 30 - 45

minutes before dipping them - this makes the chocolate set much quicker

especially if your kitchen is overly warm.

This is a good do ahead recipe the can be made months ahead and frozen

until needed.

Tuna Broccoli Bake


1 1/2 cups small pasta shells, uncooked
1/2 lb broccoli florets
6 oz can tuna, drained
10 oz can cheddar cheese soup
1 soup can of milk
1 cup crushed potato chips


In a casserole dish, mix pasta, broccoli, tuna, soup and milk. Sprinkle
with potato chips. Bake uncovered in preheated 350 F (180 C) oven for
to 40 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
Serves 4

Spicy Applesauce Cake

Spicy Applesauce Cake

1 box spice cake mix
1/4 cup oil
2 eggs
16 oz. can applesauce
3 oz. cream cheese
2 cups powdered sugar
1 stick margarine
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350. Grease Bundt cake pan with the oil.
Mix cake mix, eggs, & applesauce with a spoon for about 2 minutes or
until blended. Pour into bundt pan. Bake 40 minutes or until toothpick
inserted in center comes out clean. Blend cream cheese, margarine,
powdered sugar, & vanilla until smooth. Spread on top of cake.
You may use a can of apple pie filling instead of applesauce.
You can also substitute powdered sugar sprinkled on top of cake instead
of cream cheese glaze.

*4 tablespoons granulated sugar , divided
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled slightly
2 1/3 cups Bisquick baking mix
1/2 cup milk*

*Heat oven to 450 degrees F.*

*Mix 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Mix remaining ingredients to
soft dough. Drop dough by teaspoonsful into cinnamon-sugar. Shape each
a ball; place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.

Onion Roasted Potatoes

Onion Roasted Potatoes

1 envelope onion soup mix *
4 medium all-purpose potatoes, cut into 1-inch chunks
1/3 cup olive oil
4 tablespoons butter

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.

Melt butter with olive oil. Roll the diced potatoes in the hot olive
oil and butter mixture before shaking them in the onion mix. That will
help make the mix stick to the potatoes during baking.

In a 13 x 9-inch baking or roasting pan, arrange the potatoes so that
none touch each other. Bake, uncovered, stirring occasionally, 40
minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and golden brown.

* Substitute garlic mushroom mix, onion-mushroom mix, golden onion mix,
savory herb with garlic or fiesta herb with pepper soup mix.

Vegie or Fruit Fritters

Fritters are fun food and you can serve them for snacks or as a side dish to add some fun to your meals. Try vegie ones or fruit ones.


Add 2 cups vegetables or fruit to 2 cups of Bisquick. Beat 2 eggs well
and add to 3/4 c milk. Stir into Bisquick mixture and mix well. Drop by
small spoonfuls into deep fat, heated to 360 degrees F. (or until a
cube of bread browns in 60 seconds) Keep turning and frying until golden
brown on both sides. Drain on brown paper; serve hot with maple syrup.

Vegetable suggestions: cooked corn, chopped parsnips, chopped carrots
Fruit suggestions: chopped apples, bananas, peaches, apricots, or
pineapple. Halves of banana can be dipped into the fritter batter and fried.
Also, peaches, apples, and apricots can be cut to make rings, dipped in
batter and fried. Be sure to drain canned fruit well before using.

1 cup butter or full fat margarine
2/3 c sugar
1 c molasses
1/4 c sour milk
2 1/2 c sifted all purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp salt

Cream butter thoroughly. Add sugar gradually and cream together until
fluffy. Add molasses and milk. Mix well. Sift flour with soda, ginger,
and salt 3 times. Add flour to butter mixture, mix thoroughly. Chill.
Roll out dough on floured surface thin and cut out with cookie cutters or
a floured glass. Bake on greased cookie sheets at 375 for 8 minutes,
until done.

Chicken Chow Mein

Chicken Chow Mein

1 Chicken breast, cubed or 1 cup leftover chicken
1/2 T Low sodium soy sauce
4 Celery stalks, sliced
1 T Cornstarch
2 Onions (medium), sliced
1 c Chicken broth
12 oz. Bean sprouts
4 oz. Chinese noodles
4 oz. Bamboo shoots, sliced

Microwave chicken on high 5 minutes. In separate covered container, microwave celery and onions in 2 Tbsp. water on high 3 minutes. Add bean sprouts and bamboo shoots and return to microwave for 1 minute. Blend together soy sauce, cornstarch and 1 Tbsp. broth. Add remaining broth and chicken to vegetables. Microwave 5 more minutes stirring once. Season to taste and serve over chow mein noodles.
Makes 2 servings.

Pineapple Lemon Cream Cake

Pineapple Lemon Cream Cake

1 box (2 layer) yellow or white cake mix
1 small box lemon jello
1 c. boiling water
1 15 oz. can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 small box instant vanilla pudding
8 oz. carton frozen dessert topping; thawed

Preheat oven as directed on cake mix. Grease a 9 x 13 pan.

Prepare cake as directed on package and bake. As soon as it is out of
the oven, combine the boiling water with the jello. With a fork poke
holes all over the cake. Slowly pour the jello over the cake so it is
absorbed into the cake.

Mix together the pineapple, instant pudding and dessert topping. Spread
over the cake. Refrigerate before serving

4 boneless chicken breasts
2 eggs
3/4 cup parmesan cheese
3/4 cup crushed Ritz crackers
2 TBSP oil

parmesan cheese and cracker crumbs in another bowl. Dip chicken in eggs,
then coat with crumb mixture. Cook 2-3 minutes per side or until juices
run clear

2 (21-oz.) cans apple pie filling
1 (1 lb. 2.25-oz.) pkg. yellow cake mix
3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
2/3 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup milk

Heat oven to 375°. In large saucepan, heat pie filling over medium heat
very hot, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, in large bowl, combine cake
and butter; blend at low speed for 45 to 60 seconds or until crumbly.
Place 1 ½
cups cake mixture in medium bowl; stir in walnuts and cinnamon until
mixed. Add milk to cake mixture in large bowl; stir until dry particles
moistened. Spoon hot pie filling into ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan. Top
with heaping
spoonfuls of cake batter.
Sprinkle with walnut mixture. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until
topping is
golden brown and cracks appear dry. Cool 30 minutes. Serve warm with
ice cream.

1 egg
2 cups baking mix such as Bisquick
3/4 cup apple, peeled and finely chopped
1/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup milk
2 Tbsp oil
2 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400F. Grease bottom only of 12 medium muffin cups.
Beat egg slightly, stir in remaining ingredients just till moistened.
Divide batter evenly among cups. Bake till golden brown, 15 to 17

Skillet ground Beef

Skillet Ground Beef

1 lb. ground beef
2 potatoes
1 can green beans
1 can cream of mushroom soup.

Peel the two potatoes
and dice into bite-size pieces. Add potatoes to ground beef and cook
on medium heat until potatoes are tender. Drain grease off. Add soup.
Add green beans. Cook to heat beans and cream of mushroom soup. Add
water if mixture is too thick.

**You can add spices to the ground meat while browning, onion powder, garlic, black pepper etc.

Brunch Eggs

Easy do ahead prep for breakfast

Brunch Eggs

12 slices of bread (remove crusts)
1/2 lb. Swiss cheese
1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
1 C. bacon bits or crumbled, fried bacon
8 eggs
3 C. milk
1/2 tsp. salt

Grease 11"x7" baking dish. Lay 6 slices of bread on bottom with the
next 6 slices on top. Next add a layer of cheese with half of the
bacon bits sprinkled over top. Mix eggs and milk and pour over top of
this. Let stand overnight in refrigerator. Sprinkle remaining bacon
bits over top for garnish. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes.
Makes 8 servings.

This dish is great with any meat, beef, pork or chicken.


6 medium boiling or baking potatoes (2 pounds)
3 tablespoons margarine or butter
1 small onion, finely chopped (1/4 cup)
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 1/2 cups milk
1 tablespoon butter

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom and side of 2-quart
casserole. Scrub potatoes; peel if desired. Cut into 1/8-inch
slices to measure about 4 cups. Melt 3 tablespoons margarine
in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat. Cook onion in margarine
about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender. Stir in
flour, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, until
smooth and bubbly; remove from heat. Stir in milk. Heat to
boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Spread
potatoes in casserole. Pour sauce over potatoes. Dot with 1
tablespoon margarine. Cover and bake 30 minutes. Uncover and
bake 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes longer or until potatoes are
tender. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

The World suggests that any problems with the light are temporary: we had light once, we will have it again, and suggests focussing on the bigger picture.
Meanwhile, the Fool has already finished changing the light bulb and is off doing his own thing.

Chicken Fried Pork Chops

Chicken Fried Pork Chops

1/2 Cup all-purpose flour
2 Teaspoons salt
1-1/2 Teaspoons ground mustard
1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder
6 pork loin chops, 3/4" thick, trimmed
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 Can cream of chicken soup
1/3 Cup water

In a shallow bowl, combine flour, salt, mustard and garlic powder;
dredge chops. In a skillet, brown the chops on both sides in oil.
Place in a slow cooker. Combine soup and water; pour over chops.
Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours or until meat is tender. If
desired, thicken pan juices and serve with the pork chops. This
recipe yields 6 servings.

Pasta Ricotta Casserole

So you feel like a little Italian tonight, here's a good one.

Pasta Ricotta Casserole

1 package (16 oz) casserole elbows
1 (26 oz) jar spaghetti sauce
1 (32 oz) container ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1/2 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese, divided
salt and pepper to taste

Cook pasta according to pkg. directions. Drain. Heat spaghetti sauce and pour 1 1/2 cup over cooked pasta tossing well. Layer 1/2 of pasta in a 9x13 pan and spoon ricotta cheese over pasta. Pour 1 cup sauce over ricotta and sprinkle with half of the shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Add remainder of pasta, then spaghetti sauce and top with remaining cheeses. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Serves 6-8

Quick BBQ Beef Bake

Quick Barbecue Beef Bake

1 Pound Ground beef
3/4 Cup Chopped onion
18 Ounces Barbecue sauce
2 Cups Shredded cheddar cheese
2 Cups Bisquick Original or Reduced Fat baking mix
1 Cup Milk
2 Eggs

HEAT oven to 400'F. Cook ground beef and 1/2 cup of the onion in 10" skillet until beef is brown; drain. Stir in barbecue sauce. Spoon into ungreased 13x9x2" baking dish; sprinkle with cheese.
STIR baking mix, milk and eggs until blended. Pour over beef mixture. Sprinkle with remaining onion.
BAKE 25-27 minutes or until crust is light golden brown.

Easy & Delicious Chicken

Easy & Delicious Chicken

4 to 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
8 oz. bottle Italian dressing
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 c. chicken broth
8 oz. cream cheese
salt and pepper to taste

In crockpot combine breasts and Italian dressing. Cook on low for at least 6 hours. When chicken is tender, drain most of dressing and discard. Shred chicken and return to crockpot. Combine soup, both, cream cheese, salt and pepper. Pour mixtre of chicken and cook for one more hour.

The recipes I'll post will be very easy to make with very easy to find items, no fancy stuff. From time to time I'll post a spell or two or meanings of Tarot cards, so it will have little bit of this and little bit of that.
