When you are ready to light the candle, chant something like:
Candle of power, candle of might,
Create my desires here on this night.
Power, stream from this candle's fire.
Bring to me my heart's desire.
My words have strength, the victory's won.
So say I, this spell is done
QUICK CANDLE HEALING SPELL
On a blue candle, use a pin to inscribe-moving from the base to the tip-the name
of the person who is ill. Pierce the candle with the pin and leave it there.
Let the candle burn down and extinguish itself.

October Season of The Witch
October is the start of the witch season where you see witches everywhere. Halloween is on everyone's mind and creativity runs wild with what you want to dress as for that big night, Halloween. Salem, MA fills with millions of visitors, wanting to feel the vibe and energy of all things witch & magick.
Eye of newt, toe of frog, are just some of the ingredients in a witch's brew. Incantations of double, double toil and trouble. Fire burn, and cauldron bubble. The image of a dark clothed hag stiring her cauldron casting evil spells and raising energy. This is the stereotypical personification of a witch.
In reality a witch is a healer, with knowledge about herbs and plants, in tune with the seasons, nature, mother earth (The Goddess) & the universe. Witches love, protect & respect human life, animals and plants.
Being a witch is a year round thing, not just for October but everday of every season. In tune with nature and the cosmos, the all, the spark of light & energy that is within us all.
In closing, October is special to witches because it's the start or the beginning of a new year, the witches new year, Samhain. Celebrate and have fun because another new year is upon us!

A few lovely poems/poetry inspired by Autumn, The Harvest Moon, Full Moons, Gardens, Nature...
"Under the harvest moon,
When the soft silver
Over the garden nights,
Death, the gray mocker,
Comes and whispers to you
As a beautiful friend
- Carl Sandburg, Under the Harvest Moon
the days grow cold.
The Goddess pulls her mantle of Earth around Her
as You, O Great Sun God, sail toward the West
to the land of eternal enchantment,
wrapped in the coolness of night.
the hours of day and night are balanced."
- Mabon Sabbat and Lore
"For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together. For nature, it is a time of sowing, of scattering abroad."
- Edwin Way Teale
"Autumn begins with a subtle change in the light, with skies a deeper blue, and nights that become suddenly clear and
chilled. The season comes full with the first frost, the disappearance of migrant birds, and the harvesting of the season's last crops."
- Glenn Wolff and Jerry Dennis

Autumn Equinox Happy Fall
Today marks the Autumn Equinox where day and night are roughly the same number of hours and from here on days get shorter and nights grow longer. Time to burn candles and light the wood stove or fireplace.
I love this time of year, there is a true magic spirit about it - the colors, the scent in the air and just knowing that the magical season of the year, the holidays are around the corner.
Autumn - time for picking apples, pumpkins, leaf peeping, picking pine cones for wreaths, gathering and getting ready for Halloween/Samhain the witch's new year and a long hard winter in New England.
Currently working on some Fall/Winter jewelry ideas for the jewelry boutique, leaves, snowflakes, moonstone, whites and light blues.
Many blessings and abundance your way....... Vamp~

Look at a hinge on the nearest door. Its halves slide smoothly around each other and around their centering pin. Then look at the ears of a cat or dog as it turns to face some rustle or squeak. Muscles pull on cartilage, twisting each structure around its pivot, and skin stretches to accommodate the motion. These ears are hinges, too, but they’re made from flexible materials that bend instead of solid parts that slide.

The Frog Prince
One fine evening a young princess put on her bonnet and clogs, and went out to take a walk by herself in a wood; and when she came to a cool spring of water with a rose in the middle of it, she sat herself down to rest a while. Now she had a golden ball in her hand, which was her favourite plaything; and she was always tossing it up into the air, and catching it again as it fell.
After a time she threw it up so high that she missed catching it as it fell; and the ball bounded away, and rolled along on the ground, until at last it fell down into the spring. The princess looked into the spring after her ball, but it was very deep, so deep that she could not see the bottom of it. She began to cry, and said, 'Alas! if I could only get my ball again, I would give all my fine clothes and jewels, and everything that I have in the world.'
Whilst she was speaking, a frog put its head out of the water, and said, 'Princess,.....

This May Day craft makes a fine lawn ornament or table centerpiece for your Beltane holiday. You can make it as small as six inches high, or up to three or four feet tall if you prefer- it's up to you.
You Will Need:
1 fairly straight, sturdy branch (the height you desire), Flowerpot, Cardboard, Pencil, Scissor, Glue (optional), Sand, Spanish moss, 8 ribbons with wire in them (color and length that you like)
Start with a stick, and break off all smaller branches so it is a single, straight (fairly) stick. If you want, you can peel off bark, sand and even stain and paint it- but you can also leave it as close to natural as you found it. It's a Wiccan craft, there is no right or wrong on how to decorate it; it's up to you. When determining the height of your stick, mind you that 1/3 of it will be buried in the pot for stability.
Get your container, which should be at least 1/3 the height of your pole to ensure the pole is sturdy. So if you have a 2 feet high pole, you'll want an 8 inch high flowerpot.
Place your flower pot on a piece of scrap cardboard and trace around it. Trim to make a cardboard insert that perfectly fits in the bottom of the pot. Glue it down to the bottom, if desired. If you want to keep the mini May pole on a porch or in the house, this will prevent sand from escaping.
Fill the container half-way with sand. Set the pole in the center. Water the sand lightly and tamp it down. Fill it the rest of the way, dampening it lightly and tamping it down around the pole, until the pole stands up straight.
Tie ribbons around the top tip of the pole. Fan them out around the pole and arrange them as you please- twist them, curl them, bend them gently to indicate movement.
Cover the top of the sand with Spanish moss and display for your Beltane holiday
* If you prefer, you can use potting soil and grow grass, chives or flowers around the pole.
** Another variation would be dispensing with the flower pot altogether and sticking the pole straight into the ground.

Ostara also known as Eostre, Easter, Vernal Equinox, Spring Equinox, and the First Day of Spring. The time of year when day & night are equal. The return of warmer weather and longer days. Light rules over darkness. Renewal, rebirth, a new cycle begins.
The sun grows in intensity and the earth welcomes new growth. It's a good time to do a cleansing ritual and purify your magical space with sage. Dress up your altar with spring flowers.
With all the pretty flowers that are starting to bloom, I was inspired to make a spring flower bracelet available for purchase at Vamps Jewelry.

Divination provides an important glimpse of your path before it unfolds fully. Most divinatory tools, such as tarot cards, respond better if laid out upon a properly consecrated cloth rather than on a bare table.
You may use a plain cloth or one with markings for a specific system. To consecrate your cloth, first spread it flat. Lay out all your cards on it in order. Now say:
Tools of power,
Tools of art,
Tools that see the hidden heart,
Tools that tell the path before
Be you blessed by ancient lore.
Wrap the cloth around the deck, and continue:
Now together be you bound
Cards and cloth that wraps around
One in two, and two in one,
By these words my will be done!
The cloth is now consecrated. Keep it wrapped around your deck when not in use.

Butters made with savory herbs can be spread onto bread, meats or
vegetables, and used in sauces and sautés. Peppermint or other
sweet-herb butters can be served with pancakes, waffles, warm muffins
and other desserts.
• 4 to 6 tablespoons fresh herb leaves (e.g., basil, chives, dill, fennel, mint, parsley, tarragon, cilantro, thyme, sage)
• 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1. Chop herbs to release the leaf oils, then blend herbs into the butter with a fork.
2. Pack the butter into a roll of waxed paper and refrigerate for up to 24 hours to distribute flavors and firm up.
3. Slice the roll into disks or shave into curls to serve, or use the herb butter for cooking. Try adding additional seasonings such as paprika, cayenne, ground pepper, garlic or shallot.
To make honey butter soften the amount of butter you would like to use, like a whole stick of butter and blend with honey, with at least 2 teaspoons or more to taste, then follow procedure for rolling butter into waxed paper and refrigerate. You can also do this with margarine if you prefer.
