Interview With Dr. David Harrison - Author of The Genesis of Freemasonry

A good friend of mine has written two stellar books on Freemasonry and here is an excellent interview he did. Both books are highly recommended by me. Both books available at Amazon & Amazon UK and soon to be released a hardback version of his second book, The Transformation of Freemasonry.

On The Level - The History of Freemasonry with David Harrison

On the Level - In this video Andrew Selwyn -Crome interviews Historian Dr David Harrison about his book The Genesis of Freemasonry.

Historian Dr David Harrison reconstructs the hidden history of the movement, tracing its roots through a mixture of mediaeval guild societies, alchemy and necromancy. He examines the earliest known Freemasons and their obsessions with Solomon's Temple, alchemy and prophecy to the formation of the Grand Lodge in London, which in turn led to rebellions within the Craft throughout England, especially in York and with the formation of the antients. Harrison also analyses the role of French immigrant Dr Jean Theophilus Desaguliers in the development of English Freemasonry, focussing on his involvement with the formation of the mysterious modern Masonic ritual. All Freemasons and more general readers will find much of interest in this fascinating exploration of the very beginnings of Freemasonry, still one of the most mysterious brotherhoods in the world.

Travel Flow Spell

Travel Flow Spell

When traveling for business, pay attention to the flow of energy. You go and return; you exchange power with other people. It's all about building connections. This spell enhances positive energy flow. For it, you will need a pair of candles—one representing yourself and the other representing whomever you're going to meet—some gold yarn, and a lighter. First, name the candles for yourself and your business partner. Set them up and wrap the yarn around their bases in a figure-eight pattern. Light the candles. Now say:

Golden thread and golden light,
Spin a trail of truth and right.
As we follow, let us see
All the worth in you and me.
As the shadows softly fall,
Let this trip bring good for all.

Meditate for a while on your trip's purpose, then blow out the candles. Carry the string with you when you travel.

Ostara - Happy Spring

Ostara - Happy Spring

Spring is here the Vernal Equinox. Last night's full moon was so beautiful, I went out after midnight and basked in the moon's rays and this morning greeted the Sun and welcomed Spring time into my life. We made egg salad sandwiches for lunch and walked along the yard to look for all the bulbs that are starting to sprout. It's been a long hard winter with lots of snow and coldness, we welcome the rebirth and renewal of spring time. Happy spring and many blessings to all my readers. Here are some spells for Ostara from ADailyTarotYahooGroup.

Ostara, otherwise known as the Vernal Equinox, marks the date when day overcomes night. Plants re-emerge from the earth, the air is filled with birdsong, and animals mate and bear young. Humans feel an overpowering urge to build now, to plant and to fall in love. This powerful time is when winter dreams need to be acted upon. The most potent talisman we have this time of the year is the egg, symbol of rebirth, new beginnings, and growth. Here are some old and new ways to use eggs in your spellwork.

For a new love, take a raw egg and dye it red. Poke holes on either end of the egg with a needle or a small nail. Make the hole on the small end of the egg large enough so that you can insert a crystal and herbs. Blow the contents of the egg out the holes and thoroughly clean out the inside. Insert into the egg a the small rose quartz crystal, rose petals, and a sprinkle of catnip. Visualize a new love entering your life. Glue over the hole with pink tissue paper. You can modify this spell for abundance or any new venture with a change of color, crystal, and herb.

To keep a family together, the eldest member of the clan divides a hard-boiled egg so that each member gets a piece to eat. Throughout one's life, if any member of the family gets lost one must think about those he or she shared the egg with. This will cause the others to think of him or her. The combined physic energies will guide the lost one home.

To ensure the safety and well-being of your household, bury a magically charged egg in each of the four directions. Charge an egg with visions of an abundant harvest and bury it in your garden before you plant. Hang decorated eggs from the trees around your property on Ostara to bring prosperity to your family for the year.

Fire Scrying Spell

Fire Scrying Spell

Being a fire sign I love to look into the flame and watch it dance before my eyes. The jagged edges as they lick the air and swirl in colors of red yellow orange and blue.

Use a cauldron or fire place to light a fire if in
doors. If this is a problem use a candle flame but
don't leave it unattended (if so substitute 'candle
flame burning bright' for ring…'). Burn an appropriate
incense or oil and stare deep into the flame chanting:

"Ring of fire burning bright
Cleansing power of radiant light,
Goddess clear and aid my sight,
Grant me true vision this night!"

Spell To Cheer You Up

Spell To Cheer You Up

For this simple spell you will need an orange candle and
a small circle of paper slightly smaller in diameter than
the base of the candle. Draw a smiling face on the piece
of paper.

Take the candle in your hands and strongly "see" yourself
happy, smiling, cheerful and confident. Then put the smiley
face in a candle holder and push the candle into the holder
on top of the paper. Place the candle in a fireproof
container (a cast iron cauldron would be ideal if you have
one, or otherwise a bowl of damp earth or sand), put the
container in a safe place away from curtains, draughts,
animals and children etc. Light the candle, thinking of
yourself as happy and cheerful as you do so, then leave it
to burn out.

This spell will give you a charge of positive energy which
will lift your spirits and help you through a period of
depression, flatness or tiredness.

Perfume Your Stationery/Note Cards

Perfume Your Stationery/Note Cards

Sweetly perfume your stationery and note cards by keeping them in a

box with a few rose geranium leaves for two weeks. If a stronger

scent is desired, put few drops of rose geranium oil on a cotton

ball and place the cotton ball in the box and let sit for two weeks.

(Use can also use any fragrance oil you like, lavender, rose, lily, vanilla etc. Just put a few drops of your favorite scented oil or essential oils on a cotton ball in the bottom of your box. I sometimes just put a drop on a cotton ball not to get it to wet and wipe the notecard, stationery paper, or envelope gently and let it dry before writing your note.)

The Simple Spread

The Tarot of Vampyres by Ian Daniels

I just purchased a few oracle decks and a tarot deck, had been a while since I purchased a new deck. I got Oracle of The Dragonfae by Lucy Cavendish, Madame Endora's Fortune Cards & The Tarot of Vampyres by Ian Daniels.

I must say the Vampyre tarot deck has the most beautiful artwork if you're into dark art. Also the Oracle of the Dragonfae has beautiful artwork. Lots of times I buy decks because of the artwork.

Lately I've been also getting into Fairy/Fae so the Oracle of The Dragonfae is going to be great to read with. Here is a simple spread that you can do anytime you want a little guidance/info.

The Simple Spread

___ ___ ___
|_1_| |_2_| |_3_|

The simplest possible Tarot spread is the drawing and
interpreting of a single card. The simple spread above
goes a little further by employing three cards, and the
meaning of each card is modified according to the
position it occupies in the spread. To prepare the
reading, three cards are selected and dealt in the
order shown. They are then interpreted in turn as
follows:

1. The Past Events or influences from the past that
have affected the present but are now passing away

2. The Present The important events, issues, attitudes
or influences around the question or current situation

3. The Future Future events and fresh influences about
to come into play that will operate in the near future

If a specific question has been asked, then each
position is interpreted in a manner relevant to the
question. Of course, the spread may be varied in any
way the reader sees fit, with greater or fewer cards,
or different attributions to the three positions. The
important thing is that the form and meaning of the
spread are known in advance. For example, the simple
spread could be interpreted as follows if this suited
the reader's purposes and preferences better:

1. The Present The important event, issue, attitude
or influence around the question or current situation

2. Obstacles Current obstacles, problems, conflicts
and opposition that the questioner must deal with

3. The Outcome The eventual outcome of events shown
by the other cards
