Stress Management Spell

Stress Management Spell

Do you have too much to do, and too little time? This is the catch-cry of our contemporary, time-poor lifestyle. Tonight, with a waning Moon, set aside some time to reduce some of that stress. Of course, we can't completely remove all the stress from our lives, but we can ease some of the pressure and minimize its impact. On a sheet of black or dark paper, with a dark-colored pen, write the things in your life that are currently causing you stress. Imagine the dark pigmentation of the paper absorbing the ink, drinking in your challenges, easing your anguish. Fold the paper three times, and burn it in the flame of a black candle, as you say:

I will forgive
I will let go
Of those things
That trouble me so!

As you breathe out, visualize your worries diminishing and floating away.

Goddess Freya -Goddess of Love, Beauty & War

(Goddess Freya is one of my favorite Goddesses, the Goddess of love, beauty & war. Friday's Goddess a force to be reckoned with. Celebrate every Friday by honoring this Goddess.)

Goddess Freya -Goddess of Love, Beauty & War

Freya is one of the major Goddesses of Norse Mythology. Equal in prowess to Thor, Freya is nearly the equal of Odin, the Allfather. She is the Goddess of Love and Beauty, one of the original fertility goddesses of the region. Patron of young lovers, Freya is viewed as a force for good in the world – protector of the weak, healer, granter of magic and source of love and peace. She listens to the prayers of men and women seeking love and helps them when she can.

Freya lives in the beautiful palace Folkvang ("field of folk"), a place where love songs are always played, and her hall is Sessrumnir. She divides the slain warriors with Odin: one half goes to her palace, while the other half goes to Valhalla. Women also go to her hall.

As the Goddess of Beauty, the Lady Freya is the most beautiful female in the Nine Realms. The sexy Vanir Goddess is an enchantress, captivating all with her magic and her beauty.

Cats are closely associated with the Goddess Freya. They act as message carriers, spies, and familiars. A pair of large cats pull the Goddess's chariot, as well.

Brisingamen is one of the Lady's treasures. A magical necklace forged for her by the dwarves, Brisingamen enhances even Goddess Freya's bountiful charms. While wearing it, the Lady is completely irresistible, even to other gods and goddesses.

Beautiful, powerful and mysterious - Freya is the archetypical woman
The essence of beauty, Freya is the loveliest of all the Goddesses. Many of the Norse myths involve Gods and Giants pursuing Freya or trying to trick the Goddess into wedding one of them... or at least sleeping with one of them. Being a powerful Goddess, she doesn't put up with that!

Punk fashion in the 80's

Punk fashion in the 80's

Punk fashion in the 80’s was more of ripped jeans plaid jeans, t-shirt, plaid long sleeved shirts, leather jackets, combat boots and lots of wallet chains, spiked belts and studded wrist cuffs for the punk loving guys. Fish nets and plaid miniskirts with combat boots were all the rag for the girls. Of course the girls of the 80’s loved the tore up jeans and t-shirts and combat boots too. And then there was the hair both genders.
Punk hair fashion of the 80’s took on a whole new role from punk’s inception of the 1970’s death rock era. Non-conformity and angry rebellion were still the anthem of the punk culture and in any other era the 80’s focused on the hair. Where the hair in the 1970 was said to be different, the 1980’s went all out.
Rainbow colored hair like orange, pink, red, purple, blue and yellow were showing up everywhere. Asymmetrical styles were the rage as well as one side shaved and one side long and wild. High spiked Mohawks and liberty spikes were adored. Another version of the spiked Mohawk was the shaved sides and one long strip of hair down the back. Bleached blond hair with black tips topped it all off. Whatever wild and off the wall hair style you could come up with was greeted with great enthusiasm. Shaving of the eyebrows became popular during this era too.
Tattoos of your favorite punk rock band could be found on the hard core punk worshipers. And tattoos of spider webs covered their elbows and hands. Ugly controversial sayings were proudly worn with pride.
Another popular punk culture of the 80’s was body piercings. You could find them anywhere to give shock value such as the nose, eyebrows and lips. Gauged earrings both large and small and a metal bar through the top of the ear were very popular.
Punk fashion in the 80’s made a statement and it engulfed a generation of kids and young adults that wanted to be different than everyone else. Their style stood out and that is exactly what they wanted to accomplish.
